“Know Thyself.”
—The Oracle of Delphi
Psychotherapy is the process of coming to know yourself. Your past, your patterns, and your distinctive personality. Psychotherapy is the process of learning how to heal by integrating the past that no longer serves, overcoming patterns that no longer work, and developing parts of your personality for personal growth.
Our Services
Finding the right path for your mental and emotional well-being can be a journey, and we're here to walk alongside you every step of the way. Our personalized therapy services are designed to listen deeply, understand fully, and support you emphatically in creating a balanced and fulfilling life. We see individual adult clients, offer couples counseling, and on occasion, we offer group counseling on various topics.
-
Individual psychotherapy is tailored to suit your goals, help treat your symptoms, and guide you along an individualized treatment plan towards growth and healing.
-
Couples counseling offers a safe space to discuss conflict, resolve and repair, and develop more effective communication skills, so you can improve levels of authenticity and deepen intimacy in your relationship. We do this by understanding our blocks to listening, learning how to fight fair, and develop skills to attune more skillfully to our partner’s or spouse’s emotional world.
-
Throughout the year, we will offer group counseling sessions for various topics as we determine a need in our community. One of our favorites is Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Groups. Check back for more detailed info.
Inside
our world
I’m your psychotherapist, Liz Jarrard, Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I mountain bike, trail run (when my knees don’t give way), enjoy hot yoga, and live music. Road cycling is my next tackle. (I love espresso—as per the pic to the right).
I care about the environment, and have a deep love for the natural world. I love to shop second hand, and tend to my own “spiritual wellness” as a foremost practice in my life. I consider myself a lifelong student of Depth Psychology and dabble in creative writing here and there. I love my books.
And, as relationship expert Esther Perel maintains, “The quality of your relationships will determine the quality of your life.” After a day’s work, coming home to the beautiful relationships I’ve created in my own life, is my most soulful endeavor.
“What if I should discover that the poorest of the beggars and the most impudent of offenders are all within me. And that I stand in need of the alms of my own kindness. That I, myself, am the enemy who must be loved -- what then?” —C.G. Jung
I use an eclectic approach to psychotherapy tailored to the client’s unique biopsychosocial needs.

Please note: New clients need to be seen on either a weekly or biweekly basis based on an appropriate treatment plan for high quality care. There are a number of reasons for this, but it is generally considered best practice. Therefore, to keep all of my client sessions running smoothly, keeping regular appointment times at the same day and time each session, is how I conduct business.
